JABAL -E- SAFA..
1 .  It is the place where from "Sa`ie" starts.

2 .  After the vast extension of "Masjid-ul-Haram", this "Jabal" (mount) has come inside the mosque. Now, only a very few pieces of rock are there whereas the original mount has been removed because of extension of "Haram". Few pieces of rough rock which are still there have now become  very smooth because of continuos stepping of pilgrims.

3 .  From this mountain a pilgrim starts his "Sa`ie" towards "Marwa" mount, which is on the other side.

4 .  If any pilgrim enters in "Masjid-ul-Haram" from "Safa Gate" ( One of 95 Haram Gates ), he will find himself near this mount.

5.  The running distance between Safa and Marwa is 2 furlong. Its mean that pilgrim has to walk (2x7) 14 furlongs when they do Saie.

6. The holy Quran explain safa and Marwa in these words :
       (Chapter 2, Al baqara, verse 158)
TRANSLATION :     Surely, Safa and Marwah are among the Symbols of Allah.  So if those who visit the House in the Season or at other times.  It is not a difficulty over them they should compass them round, and if any one obeys his own impulse to good be sure that Allah is He Who recognize and knows.

Ahlan 7. No doubt starting of saie from the top of this mount made it very important mount in islamic history but safa mount has another significant importances. This is the mount where prophet Muhammad sallalla ho allihi wasalam started or inaugurated the preaching of islam. After attaining the status of nabovat (prophet hood), this was the mount where prophet Muhammad sallalla ho allihi wasalam  called all  the residents of makkah and delivered the message of islam first time in front of them.

8. Prophet Muhammad sallallaho allihi wasalam who was known as "SADIQ" (True speaker) among the people of Makkah right from his child hood. when prophet Muhammad sallalla ho allihi wasalam called all makkah residents (kuffar-e-quresh) near safa mount and asked them standing on the top of the  mount " If i say that enemy is coming from the back of this mount, would you believe me?" All the people  replied    " yes -------because you always speak true".

After this confirmation Allah's' messenger sallalla ho allihiwasalam  delivered a lecture and invited all makkahs'' people to come forward to worship One and Lonely God----ALLAH---. It was the first formal invitation to embrace islam was given by Prophet Muhammad sallalla ho allihiwasalam from the top of safa mount.

3 .  Some people cut their hairs and some come outside from "Marwa gate" where a number of barber shops are available for hair cutting. After hair cutting or shaving off  heads, "Umra" procedure becomes completed and "Ahram" (Special Dress of Pilgrim) may be put off and common dress amy be worn.

4 .  Women pilgrims complete their "Umra" just after cutting few hairs from the three side of their heads at "Marwa" mount.

6 .  The passage between "Safa and Marwa" mounts has been divided into two parallel parts, one is used for the persons going from "Safa to Marwa" and other part is used for coming from "Marwa to Safa". Between these two parallel parts a two way passage is left for old and disabled persons, who can use wheel chairs in this space.  These chairs are available near inside "safa gate" on payment.

Wheel-chairs out of safa gates are available for
pilgrims. The wheel chairs are kept in front of safa
gate beside the wall of palace of saudi king.

   7 .  A same type area for Sa`ie has been built on first floor of "Haram" just above the original ground level "Sa`ie" area. This is built so that room may be doubled for faithful on the occasion of "Hajj" and "Ramadan". Stairs and lifts are installed near safa gate to care pilgrims on upper level.

MELLIAN AGH ZAREEN (DEEP AREA OF SA`IE)

1 .  During SAIE (running from safa to  marwa), there is a part which is hilighted by the green tube lights under  the ceiling, is known as "MELLIEN AGH ZAREEN".

2 .  Originally it was a deep area between "Safa and Marwa" mounts. When Syeda Hajira ran from "Safa to Marwa" in search of water, She kept her eyes over her beloved son - infant Syedna Ismail , who was lying & weeping due to intense thirst on the hot surface near kabba but when she reached in the deep area, the child became disappeared, she accelerated her pace and reached on the top where from she could again watch her child. Action of loving mother is so much liked and appreciated by Almighty Allah that he ordered pilgrims to run faster in this deep area so that the memories of syeda Hajir might be repeated till the day of judgement.

3 .  Because of modern construction of Haram, no one can determine this deep area as now every thing is in level. For pilgrims this area is hilighted by green tube lights.

4 .Male pilgrims must run fast in this area where as females must walk in normal way.

MUTAF

1 .  The rounded area of Masjid-ul-Haram where KABA is situated and faithful keep moving around it, is called "MUTAF".

2 .  It is God blessed Area  where thousands of Muslims worship Allah in shape of Tawaf and salat .

3 .  Its' floor is modernly constructed with white shining marble and unique technology, which keeps it   despite continuos heat and severe sun shine. Bare footed pilgrims feel no harm during Tawaf.

4 .  Its lighting system is wonderful. Nobody can realize when sun sets and artificial lights cover whole the things.

5 .  Once, when Syeda Khateja was not married with Muhammad (S.A.W) and her husband was ABI-HAHLA, some kuffar were teasing and hurting, beloved Prophet Muhammad arrow shows mutaf (S.A.W) in Mutaf Area. When  ABI-HALA saw, he came to help Syedna Muhammad (S.A.W). Kuffar left the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) but killed (shaheed) Syedna HARIS ( may Allah pleased him). It was the first blood of Islam which made Mutaf soil red. We all, muslim can feel grout to the fate of Haris Bin ABI HALA (may Allah pleased him) who sacrificed his life for the sake of most pious man of the universe on the most pious soil of the earth.
